Leadership: The Skyline Village Chicago Board of Directors


President
Phyllis Mitzen is a policy consultant at Health & Medicine Policy Research Group, Center for Long Term Care Reform, and coordinates a program for social work students interested in aging at the University of Chicago, Social Services Administration. She was formerly at CJE Senior Life. “I love living in Streeterville and working with our committed and talented board to build our Skyline community." Phyllis received her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago.
Treasurer
Evelyn Shaevel was a librarian and executive at the American Library Association (ALA) and Medical Library Association, managing volunteer boards and committees. At ALA she was marketing director for Publishing. Previously a docent at the McCormick Freedom Museum, she currently volunteers at the Art Institute of Chicago and serves on committees at Northwestern’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Secretary

Sandra Herman has been active in Skyline Village Chicago since its inception. She is a Past-President of the Sisterhoods of both Niles
Township Jewish Congregation and Beth Jacob of Scottsdale.  She
served as a program manager for 18 years at the Bradford Exchange.  
She loves duplicate bridge and volunteers at the Cradle. Her husband
Jack is a previous SVC board member. 

Director

Regan Burke is a writer living on Potawatomi land in downtown Chicago with Henry the dog. She wrote the book, "In That Number" and posts weekly stories on ReganBurke.com. Regan spent her life working in politics and government and retired from Cook County government in 2011. She’s Board Chair of RAINN, the national sexual assault advocacy network. Regan edits the Skyline Village Chicago's newsletter.
